Quin's sire is imported KPWN approved Pinto warmblood stallion, Tricolore. There are strong Voltaire blood in his pedigree and is showing qualities of having the same level headed demeanour and athletic ability. Voltaire was the son of Furioso II and was one of the first the super performance stallions to go on and prove himself equally as important as a breeding stallion and as a competitive international jumper.
"“Young Voltaires aren’t usually very gutsy or remarkable in free-jumping,” points out Jan, “However, they advance to a high level in the sport because of their amazing temperament. A prime example of which is Voltaire’s daughter, Finesse. Under Emile Hendrix, she quickly advanced to the FEI. Many people thought she came ‘out of the blue’ but we had often seen her perform well in local shows at the Z- and ZZ levels, without attracting much attention. She was a very efficient jumper with an excellent temperament, the kind of horse that Voltaire often produced,” Greve points out.
Quin has been a brave and cooperative foal since birth and has always been easy to handle. He leads inside/outside daily and stands for the vet and farrier. At his first outing, he competed in the weanling division at the Canadian Sport Horse Breed show and finished 3rd in his division against very modern warmblood bloodlines. We expect him to finish around 16.1hh and would be competitive in the Jumpers, Hunters, dressage and equitation discipline.

While Far West’s unassuming, gentlemanly demeanor may veil his competitive prowess, on course, his innate ability as a scopey, careful and fast jumper became readily apparent. Far West long show career international and in America is certainly impressive because he carried both professionals and amateurs to the first place finish at the highest level of competition.
